Kink Test

This free kink test is a private kink quiz you play one card at a time: answer yes, maybe or no, get your kink archetype, and match with a partner.

For adults 18 and over. If the quiz doesn't load, open the Kink Test in its own window.

How the Kink Test works

  1. Swipe the cards

Each card is one kink with a plain-English explanation, so you never have to look anything up. Answer Yes, Maybe, No or Fantasy only, and pick which side you'd want where it matters.

  2. Get your archetype

Within 30 cards you get your result: one of 13 kink archetypes. You also see your power style, your spice level and the themes that light you up. Keep going through the full deck of 186 cards and it sharpens.

  3. Bring a partner

Send a private link or pass the phone. You each answer on your own. Then you both tap reveal and see only the kinks you both want, plus the ones you're both curious about.

Your answers, explained

Yes You're into it, or you want to try it.
Maybe Curious, with the right person and the right moment.
No Not for you. A no is never shown to a partner.
Fantasy only Hot to think about, but not something you want to do.
Already into it Something that's already part of your sex life. It counts as a Yes, a little stronger.

How your result is worked out

  • Each Yes counts fully. Already into it counts a little more, Maybe counts half, Fantasy only counts a little, and skips don't count.
  • Your answers are grouped into the 17 themes. Your strongest themes pick your archetype, and the next strongest adds a streak.
  • Your side choices on two-sided cards, like spanking or being spanked, set your power style: Mostly leads, Mostly follows, Switches it up or Equal footing.
  • Your yeses on medium and advanced cards set your spice level, from Mild to Scorching, and maybes count a little.
  • Answer only a handful, or mostly maybes, and you'll likely get The Curious One. That's a starting point, not a verdict.

The 13 kink archetypes

Your strongest themes pick your archetype. Here is what each one means.

The Director

You set the scene and call the shots.

You like knowing exactly where the night is headed, because you are the one steering. Rules, orders, a firm hand at the right moment: control is how you show care, and you look after whatever you are trusted with.

The Devotee

Handing over control is your favorite kind of freedom.

Letting someone else lead lets your mind go quiet. You love rules to follow, praise to earn and a partner who knows exactly what they want from you. Trust is the whole thrill.

The Switch

In charge tonight, at their mercy tomorrow.

You understand both sides of the power game and you want both. Some nights you lead, some nights you melt. Partners love you because you can meet them anywhere.

The Sensualist

Skin first, everything else second.

Touch, temperature, texture, the slow drag of a fingertip: you live in your senses. You would trade a rushed hour for ten slow minutes, and a blindfold turns you into a different person.

The Storyteller

Every good night starts with a story.

Your imagination does a lot of the work. Role play, dirty talk, a whispered fantasy: you love the words, the scene and the character as much as the act itself.

The Performer

You glow a little brighter when someone is watching.

Mirrors, cameras, a striptease for an audience of one: being seen turns you on, and so does watching. You like sex with a sense of occasion.

The Free Spirit

More people, more fun, as long as everyone is in.

You see desire as something to share. Threesomes, swaps, parties, or just the fantasy of them: you are curious about connection beyond two, and you know it runs on honest agreements.

The Connoisseur

You notice the details other people miss.

Feet, hands, leather, lace, the curve of a hip: you have a refined eye and very specific taste. You know what you like, and you like it done right.

The Tease

The waiting is the whole point.

Edging, denial, asking permission to come: you know wanting is half the pleasure. You love the slow build and the moment it finally breaks.

The Hedonist

All of the pleasure, none of the pretending.

You go straight for what feels good: mouths, toys, every tempting option on the menu. You are generous, greedy in a good way, and never embarrassed to ask.

The Thrill Seeker

If it makes your heart race, you are interested.

You like your play with a little danger in it: negotiated, consensual and carefully done. Big sensations, big trust, big afterglow.

The Explorer

You want to try a little of everything.

Your answers range all over the map, and that is the point. You are open, playful and hard to shock, and you would rather find out than wonder.

The Curious One

Lots of maybes, and that is a fine place to start.

You are at the start of finding out what you like, and you are taking it at your own pace. Your maybes are a map: begin with the gentlest ones and see what sparks.

The 17 themes in the deck

Switch off any theme before you start. Tap a theme to read every kink in it on the Kink List.

  • Sensation & Touch (14 cards): Bites, scratches and teasing touches, soft to sharp.
  • Praise & Talk (12 cards): Sweet nothings, filthy somethings, and everything in between.
  • Clothes & Materials (12 cards): Lace, leather, latex and the thrill of dressing up.
  • Body Worship (15 cards): Every curve, freckle and toe, adored on purpose.
  • Toys & Tech (8 cards): Buzzing, thrusting, strapping on and plugging in.
  • Role Play (12 cards): Step into a character and see who shows up.
  • Power & Control (18 cards): Take the lead, hand it over, or trade places.
  • Bondage & Restraint (15 cards): Tied up, held down, and happily going nowhere.
  • Impact (10 cards): From a playful swat to a sweet sting.
  • Sensory & Temperature (9 cards): Hot, cold, tingly, or totally in the dark.
  • Edging & Orgasm Control (6 cards): Almost, almost, almost. Now you may come.
  • Exhibition & Voyeurism (12 cards): See and be seen, with everyone's enthusiastic yes.
  • Oral & Anal (13 cards): Mouths, tongues and the back door, explained without blushing.
  • Group & Open (13 cards): Room for more, as long as everyone's in.
  • Gender & Identity Play (6 cards): Try on new looks, roles and desires, your way.
  • Fluids & Messy Play (7 cards): Wet, sticky and happily unbothered by the laundry.
  • Edge Play (4 cards): Big thrills that need big trust and homework.

After the reveal

  • Start with the matches you're both most excited by, not the most extreme ones.
  • Talk outside the bedroom first, then agree on limits and a safeword before you try anything new.
  • Treat a maybe as an invitation to talk, never as a promise.
  • Go slowly the first time and check in during and after.
  • Retake the test now and then: tastes change, and new matches often appear.

Private by design

  • On your own, your answers stay on your phone. We don't store them, and there's no account or email.
  • In couples mode, your phone turns your Yes, Maybe and Fantasy answers into scrambled codes. The secret key for those codes lives only in the invite link. Our server compares the codes without knowing which kinks they stand for, and your No answers are never sent. If you choose to show it, your archetype name is stored with the pairing.
  • Pairings delete themselves after 7 days, and either of you can delete one sooner. Delete my answers wipes everything on your phone in one tap.
  • The store's analytics tools run on this page but not inside the quiz, so they can't see your answers.
  • The Hide button swaps the whole screen for a plain page whenever you need it.

Kink Test FAQ

What is a kink test?

A kink test is a quiz that helps you work out which sexual interests appeal to you. Ours shows one kink per card and explains it in plain words. Your yes, maybe and no answers become a kink archetype you can share or keep private.

Is this a BDSM test?

It covers BDSM and a lot more. Power play, bondage, impact and sensation sit alongside role play, toys, clothes and talk, and every card explains the kink in plain words. Your power style shows whether you mostly lead, mostly follow or switch.

How accurate is the Kink Test?

It's a conversation starter, not a clinical or psychological test. It reflects what you told it today, and your answers can change over time. Think of your archetype as a fun summary of your current tastes.

Is the Kink Test free and private?

Yes. It's free, there's no sign-up, and on your own your answers stay on your phone. In couples mode only scrambled codes are compared, so our server can't tell which kinks you picked.

How does the couples Kink Test work?

You each answer the same cards separately, by private link or on one phone. When you both tap reveal, you see the kinks you both want, the ones you're both curious about, and fantasies you share. Anything either of you said no to stays private.

Can my partner see my answers?

Your partner only sees matches: kinks you both said yes or maybe to, and fantasies you both marked. They never see your no answers. If they said yes to something and it doesn't show up, they can guess you weren't into it, so pair up with someone you trust.

What do the 13 kink archetypes mean?

Each archetype sums up where your strongest interests sit, from The Director and The Devotee to The Sensualist and The Explorer. Your result also shows a second streak, your power style and your spice level, so two people with the same archetype can still differ.

Will it tell me if I'm a dom, sub or switch?

It shows your power style: Mostly leads, Mostly follows, Switches it up or Equal footing. It comes from the side you pick on two-sided cards, like spanking or being spanked. Leave a card on Both and it counts toward switching.

Is the Kink Test good for beginners?

Yes. Choose Gentle only and the deck sticks to the mildest cards. Every card explains itself, and your Maybe answers become a list of gentle first steps.

Is the Kink Test for every gender and orientation?

Yes. The cards describe activities, not who does them, and two-sided cards let you pick the side you'd want. It works for any couple and for anyone playing solo.

How many kinks are in the Kink Test?

Your first result takes 30 cards or fewer, and the full deck has 186, across 17 themes from Sensation & Touch to Edge Play. You can switch off any theme before you start.

Can I retake the Kink Test?

Yes, as often as you like. Your progress saves on your phone, so you can pick up where you left off, go deeper later, or start over. Delete my answers removes everything.
