What is a bullet vibrator?
A small vibrator, usually 3 to 4 inches long, with a motor packed into a smooth, bullet-shaped body. It's made for focused, external stimulation: the clit, nipples, perineum, or the base of a penis during sex. A few are built to go inside; most aren't.
Bullet, egg or lipstick vibe?
- Bullets are slim and pinpoint, made to be held against your clit, nipples or a partner.
- Egg vibrators are rounder and usually made to go inside, like the egg on the Vive Quino.
- Lipstick vibes are bullets in disguise, like the Lovense Exomoon, which looks like makeup and runs from the Lovense app.
Which bullet is right for you?
- Pinpoint power. The We-Vibe Tango X delivers deep, rumbly vibration you can aim precisely, with 7 modes and a travel lock. The Zero Tolerance Full Metal Love is aluminum with a pointed tip, fully submersible and backed by a 5-year warranty.
- App-controlled. Pair with your phone for custom patterns or partner control. The curved Lovense Ambi stays on target and goes from broad to pinpoint, and the Satisfyer Ultra Power Bullet 8 pairs a narrow tip with an angled side for broader contact.
- Insertable. The Vedo Kiwi is made to be worn inside, with a remote, and the Vive Quino pairs an insertable egg with touchless air-wave suction for your clit.
How to use a bullet vibrator
- Start on the lowest setting, outside, and move it around: clit hood, inner lips, nipples, inner thighs.
- When something clicks, hold it there or add small, slow circles.
- Add a little water-based lube for glide.
- With a partner, hold it against your clit during sex, or let them hold it. A bullet fits between bodies where bigger toys can't.
- Only insert a bullet that's made for it, and keep bullets out of anal play: they have no flared base.
Charging and care
- Charging. Most recharge over USB, often with a magnetic cable. Seat the cable properly and check that the charging light comes on. Won't charge? Our troubleshooting guide walks through the usual fixes, starting with the travel lock.
- Cleaning. Wash with warm water and mild soap or toy cleaner. IPX7 bullets like the Tango X, Ambi and Ultra Power Bullet 8 can go under water; check the rating before you submerge any other toy.
- Storage. Turn on the travel lock, if it has one, so it can't buzz in your bag.
Bullet vibrator FAQ
What is a bullet vibrator used for?
Focused external stimulation: your clit above all, plus nipples, perineum and anywhere else you want a strong, small buzz. It's also an easy way to add vibration to sex.
How do you use a bullet vibrator?
Start low on the outside, move it around until something clicks, then hold it there. A little water-based lube helps it glide.
How long does a bullet vibrator take to charge?
It varies by model, and many brands don't publish it. The Vive Quino, for example, takes about 100 minutes for about an hour of play. Give any new toy a full charge before its first use.
Can you insert a bullet vibrator?
Only if it's made for it, like the Vedo Kiwi. Never use one anally, since bullets have no flared base.
Are bullet vibrators good for beginners?
Yes. They're small, simple and easy to control, and they show you what kind of vibration you like before you buy something bigger. Our best vibrators for beginners guide covers what to buy first.
